Gracie isn't excited about the first day of school in her new class.
In fact, she'd rather stay in her old class, with her old friends.
Will Ms. Brown's challenge and a surprise new friend change Gracie's mind?
In her second Gracie story, author, teacher, and mom Tara F. Mozee uses the story of how strong-willed Gracie adjusts to a new classroom to share insightful strategies for helping young students succeed in new situations. Through a relatable and engaging story, Mrs. Mozee shows how setting goals and focusing on achieving them can help little ones develop confidence and overcome fears about going back to school and making new friends.
Gracie’s excitement over bath time screeches to a halt when Mommy says the unthinkable:
“Gracie, I have to wash your hair.”
Gracie endlessly asks why, and the whole family stops by the bathroom door to persuade her.
Every night Gracie delays, and as the weekend draws near, her strands are dirtier than ever.
Will she ever let Mommy wash her hair?
Follow Gracie and her family in this uniquely illustrated children’s book about a little girl learning to make decisions one small choice at a time.

Thank you to all my students for the rave reviews!

Dear Mrs. Mozee, You made an amazing book, especially when it's your first book! My favorite parts were when the character Sissy teased Gracie and said, "Because your hair is DIRTY!" Another favorite part is when Taryn said "I no-no!" When you wrote a book, I was surprised to know a teacher that is also an author! (continued on next page)
You used descriptive words and it made me understand the story better. I liked that you put a surprise at the end. Love, Samantha
